The playground has undergone a revamp in recent years, and last year the tennis court was re-covered and re-fenced to provide a multi-use games area for 5-a-side football, tennis, basketball, and netball. The football pitch and changing rooms are also owned by the charity although most of the maintenance is undertaken by the football team.

The committee consists of around 11 people, all representatives of local village groups such as the Church and the Brownies, plus some co-opted members.

Grindleton 100 Club

The 100 Club is a fundraising project run by the Grindleton Recreation Ground Charity. It is a subscription club limited to 100 members, where paid-up members are included in draws for cash prizes. There is an annual draw and a series of monthly draws.

The annual draw is held in November and is for a single cash prize. It is drawn at the Grindleton Bonfire Night festivities. Subscribers with less than six months membership of the club are excluded from this draw. Each monthly draw has two prizes. The value of the prizes is dependent on the number of paid up members at the time of the draw. More information on the 100 Club is available hereOpens in a new window.

Subscriptions are payable quarterly (£6) or annually (£24). It is preferred that these be paid by Standing Order and you can download a Standing Order MandateOpens in a new window (updated 3 Mar 2011). You can elect to pay annually by cash or cheque (made payable to “GRGC”).
